Everspace 2 gets April release date, but won’t launch on Xbox One or PS4
Everspace 2, the single-player space shooter epic from Rockfish, is finally approaching its full release. The developer announced today that the game will be leaving early access on April 6. This milestone arrives after over two years of active development, which saw the release six major content updates.
The final big update will include more enemies, equipment types, challenges, and add more polish to the game’s cinematics. It’s also bringing one more companion and a whole new star system to explore.
Everspace 2 will arrive on consoles, but that’s only limited to PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. You can expect them to release in the summer, but those hoping to play the game on PS4 and Xbox One will be disappointed to learn that those versions have been cancelled.
Spacefaring looter shooter Everspace 2 flies out of early access April 6th
After two years of early access, the spacefaring looter shooter Everspace 2 is ready to fly into full release for PC on April 6th. Last November, the open-world sequel received its last major update before release, adding in a rift-opening endgame. The game already has grappling hooks – which automatically makes every shooter better – so, now we’re just waiting for a few extra bits before it’s ready for takeoff.
Pop through portals in Everspace 2’s final early access update, out now
Spaceship looter shooter Everspace 2 has launched one last update at the final frontier, with today’s Ancient Rifts update constituting the sixth and final major early access content drop. The full game won’t be out ’til next year, but what’s there now includes an endgame where you head through rifts to blow up lost pirates “who’ve succumbed to madness”. I’d leave ’em be, if I were you. Who are they going to pirate on in rift town?
Developers Rockfish Games also promise new missions, legendary items, and a “significant overhaul of our level-scaling approach”.
