The 2022 video game release schedule is getting worse every single week
You know what it’s like at the beginning of a new year. You’re all excited about the many tens and hundreds of new video games coming out over the next 12 months, and you go and make a big list of all the ones you’re really looking forward to. We did exactly that back in January of this year, coming up with a list of our 43 most anticipated games of 2022. Lately, though, it seems we can’t go a single day without word of yet another game being delayed, whether it’s just by a couple of months, or that it’s been taken off the calendar entirely.
It got me thinking. How many of those 43 games are even still on the table this year? And, more importantly, what does that mean for RPS as we head into the back-end of 2022? Well, I went back and counted, folks, and it’s not great reading. At time of writing, just over half that number – 27 in total – are still slated for a 2022 release right now, although with many still listed as a very vague ‘2022’ or ‘Coming Soon’ on their Steam pages, I wouldn’t be surprised if that number fell further. Needless to say, I’m not sure 2022 will go down as one of the great gaming years… 2023, on the other hand? Wow, that’s looking rad.
Destiny 2 Season 18: Festival Of The Lost And Every Upcoming Event Announced
With Destiny 2 Season 18 arriving next week, the This Week at Bungie post shared a short list of dates players can look forward to. Bungie didn’t list a roadmap of Season 18-specific content, but these dates are still significant for PvP and PvE players.
First is the returning Destiny 1 raid, which launches on August 26, shortly after Season 18 begins–Bungie is still keeping raid details under wraps until the Destiny 2 Lightfall Showcase on August 23. Bungie will enable the Raid Contest mode for the first 24 hours, and players must be at 1560 Power level for the raid encounters.
Similar to Season of the Haunted, next season will only have two Iron Banner events which will land on September 6 and November 15. Rift won’t return as part of Iron Banner, however. Instead, a completely new mode, Eruption, will come to Destiny 2. A previous TWAB explained, “Eruption is Clash with energy boosts based on kill streaks.” Also in PvP, Trials of Osiris returns on September 16.

Apex Legends heirlooms: every heirloom set and how to get them
Want to know what the latest Apex Legends heirlooms are? Heirloom sets contain three cosmetic items: a melee weapon, a banner pose, and a quip, and they’re essentially the rarest cosmetics in the game. There are multiple ways to unlock heirloom sets, but it all boils down to opening Apex Packs, which are primarily earned by leveling up in the battle royale game. So yes, this does mean you have a higher chance of getting an heirloom set if you spend real money.
It’s worth noting that the Apex Legends Season 14 update increased the level cap to 2,000, finally making it possible to unlock an heirloom for free. Prior to this update, it was impossible for players to unlock additional Apex Packs once they reached the level cap. Here’s everything you need to know about Apex Legends heirlooms, including how to unlock them, which Legends have them, and what heirloom set is coming out soon.

Why every crypto guy is waiting for September 15?!
What is going to happen on September 15, 2022, and how it is going to change crypto forever?!
Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum (ETH), has announced a new probable date for the much-anticipated Merge update.
Buterin stated in a tweet on August 12 that engineers have set the number of hashes remaining to mine; hence, the switch might occur around September 15.
body[data-twttr-rendered=”true”] {background-color: transparent;}.twitter-tweet {margin: auto !important;}
function notifyResize(height) {height = height ? height : document.documentElement.offsetHeight; var resized = false; if (window.donkey && donkey.resize) {donkey.resize(height);resized = true;}if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var obj = {iframe: window.frameElement, height: height}; parent._resizeIframe(obj); resized = true;}if (window.location && window.location.hash === “#amp=1” && window.parent && window.parent.postMessage) {window.parent.postMessage({sentinel: “amp”, type: “embed-size”, height: height}, “*”);}if (window.webkit && window.webkit.messageHandlers && window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize) {window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize.postMessage(height); resized = true;}return resized;}twttr.events.bind(‘rendered’, function (event) {notifyResize();}); twttr.events.bind(‘resize’, function (event) {notifyResize();});if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var maxWidth = parseInt(window.frameElement.getAttribute(“width”)); if ( 500 < maxWidth) {window.frameElement.setAttribute("width", "500");}}
Notably, Ethereum developers had previously predicted that the transition to the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) method will take place on September 19. However, Buterin said that the precise migration date is dependent on hash rate, despite the fact that the developers have set the total terminal difficulty at 58750000000000000000000.
It is important to note that Ethereum developers successfully completed the third and final test environment network (testnet) for the Merge on August 10. The ‘Goerli’ update is said to be a dress rehearsal for the Merge.
Even as Ethereum attempts to abolish mining on the network, it is worth mentioning that numerous blockchain players have expressed opposition to the update, with the suspicion that they may opt for a fork in order to keep the Proof-of-Work (PoW) status.
Buterin, on the other hand, has recommended miners relocate to other similar ecosystems such as Ethereum Classic (ETC). Furthermore, Buterin feels that a fork will have little impact on the Ethereum ecosystem.
At the same time, f2Pool, Ethereum’s second biggest mining pool, has stated that the choice to support the Merge update is ultimately up to the mining community.
Overall, the Merge upgrade is regarded as historic for Ethereum, with analysts forecasting a strong outlook for the second-ranked cryptocurrency.
It would also have an influence on the whole crypto industry since it would directly target cryptos that have the sole purpose of serving as an alternative to Ethereum.
