Endings are hard. That’s particularly true for serialized mystery box TV shows, ones where plentiful juicy secrets hook viewers but the answers often fail to satisfy them. Putting a final bow on a story like that is a unique challenge. That’s part of what makes Servant, the Apple TV Plus psychological thriller helmed by M. Night Shyamalan, so interesting. Whereas many of these shows seem like they’re making it up as they go, Servant had a specific ending in mind. As Shyamalan told me ahead of the most recent season premiere, “The story wanted to be four seasons.” The show has been weird, confusing, and frequently nonsensical. But at least there has been the promise that it’ll all make some sense eventually.
So now, here we are at that…
April is fast approaching, and Disney+ is getting ready to release an array of exciting new content. Viewers can expect a mix of shows and movies, with some titles available as early as April 1, and others coming later in the month.
On April 19, Season 3 of The Mandalorian comes to a close. The Mandalorian Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) has been reunited with Grogu, as we saw from the events of The Book of Boba Fett. The Mandalorian will find himself with old allies while making new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together throughout the galaxy. (This last season has also had a couple of great deep-cut Star Wars Easter eggs, so here’s hoping the finale will continue that trend.)
On April 28, a new take on an old classic comes to Disney+. Peter Pan & Wendy is a live-action reimagining of the J.M. Barrie novel and 1953 animated movie, directed by David Lowery (The Green Knight, Pete’s Dragon). This original film follows Wendy Darling, a young girl afraid to leave her childhood home, who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. The cast includes Jude Law, Alexander Molony, Ever Anderson, Yara Shahidi, Alyssa Wapanatâhk, Joshua Pickering, Jacobi Jupe, Molly Parker, Alan Tudyk, and Jim Gaffigan. The film is produced by Jim Whitaker, with executive producers Adam Borba, Thomas M. Hammel, and Toby Halbrooks, who also co-wrote the screenplay with David Lowery.
The GTA Online weekly update for March 16 brings the explosive Los Santos Drug Wars finale to GTA 5, with a free car for completing the new GTA Last Dose missions introduced along with the new week of content. There’s also a second new car released, although it’s another limited-time offer so be sure to move fast if you want to pick one up. There’s also plenty of discounts and bonuses as usual, so read on for the full details.

The Last of Us Season 1 has concluded, wrapping up with a gripping and violent season finale that fans are no doubt excited to see continue with the forthcoming second season. Two of the stars of the finale have discussed the Season 1 finale, including the pivotal sequence that kicked things off. Spoilers for The Last of Us follow below.
The Season 1 finale opens with a flashback showing Anna (Ashley Johnson) trying to outrun an infected while pregnant with Ellie. She evades the infected long enough to barricade herself into a room, but her foe eventually breaks in. It bites Anna, and in the struggle, she kills the infected and gives birth to Ellie. Unfortunately for Anna, she becomes infected, too, but Ellie lives and is immune.
Some TV shows and movies use CGI or dolls in the place of very young babies, but HBO’s production featured real babies. These were twin 12-day-old babies. Johnson recalled that one of them, a girl named Mila, was a better actor than her twin brother.
HBO has announced that the season finale of The Last of Us reached 8.2 million viewers on its first night across HBO Max and traditional TV in the US. That’s a new ratings record for first-night viewership.
HBO also confirmed that Episode 1 from January is now closing in on 40 million viewers in the US alone, while Episodes 1-6 are averaging 30.4 million viewers in total. Outside the US, The Last of Us has become HBO Max’s most-watched TV show in Europe and Latin America.
Viewership for The Last of Us for its premiere grew with every episode. Episode 5 is something of an anomaly, though, as it premiered on HBO Max two days early to avoid a clash with the Super Bowl. With Friday-Sunday numbers accounted for, Episode 5 reached 11.6 million viewers for its premiere.
