Counter-Strike 2 limited test: how to play, game modes, and more
Surprise! The hit fighting game Multiversus was only in ‘open beta’ and now it’s shutting down until sometime next year
This PC Game Bundle Includes One Of The Best Pokemon-Likes
The Spring 2023 edition of Fanatical’s Diamond Collection is now available. With this build-your-own-bundle deal, you can get up to five high-rated Steam games for $23–though you can also grab a smaller three-game bundle for just $15 or a four-game option for $19 if you want to spend less.
Customers pick from a list of 15 possible games to create their own bundle, including several highly rated titles from a wide range of genres. One of the standouts is the monster-catching RPG Coromon. If the name wasn’t obvious, this indie adventure takes cues from Pokemon, setting players off in a large, pixelated world filled with unique creatures to find, battle, and tame. There have been many creature-taming RPGs released in recent years, but Coromon is one of the best, featuring a unique battle system, large monster roster, and colorful pixel art reminiscent of the Game Boy Advance.
The Evil Within Bundle and The Evil Within 2 are also worth grabbing as part of the deal. The Evil Within Bundle includes the base game and all three DLC expansions, and if you add The Evil Within 2, you’ll have the full series playable on PC.

A live service game with “no BS” – why the team behind Omega Strikers thinks it can last
It’s a dangerous world out there for the indie developer looking to make a splash with a new live service game. All games release at risk of failure, but the competitive multiplayer space has proved a no man’s land for many a promising game over the last few years.
Omega Strikers, launching this April to all platforms, is rushing in nonetheless. With its cocktail of sports, fighting game-adjacent action and character-based teamplay, is diving headfirst towards release. I had a chance to play the game during the PC beta late last year, at which point I made note of the solid foundations at the heart of Omega Strikers.
This week, at GDC, I was able to jump in yet again, and chat to the trio of Odyssey Interactive marketing director Ryan Rigby, co-founder Richard Henkel, and fellow co-founder Dax Andrus. The game has come a long way since last year, but I wanted to grill the group on how Omega Strikers would keep people playing in the months post-launch – something that has probed to be a pitfall for many of their peers.
Say goodbye to absurdly cheap Game Pass: Microsoft is killing the $1 trial
Microsoft scraps the $1 intro Game Pass subscription and looks at “different marketing promotions”
Microsoft has scrapped the $1 Game Pass subscription trail has been confirmed, via a report from The Verge.
The promotion, which allowed first-time subscribers to enjoy the benefits of the service for a far-reduced price, has been removed in place of alternative options for future folks curious about Game Pass. We have yet to see what these will be at this time.
“We have stopped our previous introductory offer for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass and are evaluating different marketing promotions for new members in the future,” states head of communications at Xbox Kari Perez to The Verge.
