Halo veteran Joseph Staten is leaving Microsoft
Joseph Staten, a Bungie veteran who worked on the first three Halo games and was brought on to help get Halo Infinite over the finish line, is leaving Microsoft, the company confirmed to IGN on Friday.
Staten switched from Xbox’s global publishing arm to the Halo Infinite development team at 343 Industries in August 2020, and by then, the game had already been delayed to 2021 from its original November 2020 launch date. He helped get Infinite out the door in December 2021, but the game had some post-launch troubles, including delays of its campaign co-op and Forge modes that meant they didn’t launch until November 2022.
In January, Staten left 343 Industries following layoffs at the studio to rejoin Xbox’s publishing division. Now, he’s…

Chart Check [Hot 100]: Beyonce’s ‘Cuff It’ Ties ‘Halo’ As Her Longest-Charting Solo Singles To Date
From ‘Crazy in Love’ to ‘Drunk in Love,’ ‘Irreplaceable,’ and more, Beyonce‘s solo discography is jam-packed with two decades worth of megahits. But, to the surprise of many, it’s the 2009 power ballad ‘Halo‘ that’s ascended above the pack on many fronts.
Found aboard her 2008 chart-topping album ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce,‘ the Ryan Tedder-penned tune may not have topped the Hot 100 at the height of its popularity (#5 peak) but it’s certainly won the race in the long run.

Halo Infinite’s season 3 ray tracing update is here, and looks kinda underwhelming
As promised last year, Halo Infinite’s season 3 update has arrived with a new ray tracing option for us PC folks. Although it was announced as part of a promo event for AMD’s Radeon RX 7000 GPUs, Infinite’s ray tracing works on any graphics card that can usually handle RT effects; all you need to do is download the update and flick it on in the display settings.
Granted, it’s not the most visually sumptuous form of ray tracing I’ve clapped a visor on. Reflections and global illumination are unchanged, as it’s only sun shadows – shadows cast using a simulated sun as the light source – that get the RT treatment.
Halo Infinite Season 3: Echoes Within Battle Pass Rewards: All Armor Pieces, Coatings, And Weapon Skins
Halo Infinite Season 3: Echoes Within has finally arrived, bringing new maps, modes, and a brand-new battle pass. The Season 3 battle pass includes 100 tiers, with 180 items in the premium track and over 80 items in the free track. This new battle pass includes 1,000 Credits, which is how much the base version costs (about $10). There is also a bundle option for 2,800 Credits, which jumps you ahead 25 tiers in the battle pass. Like the other Halo Infinite battle passes, this one never expires, so you can continue to progress it and earn rewards, even when Season 4 rolls around.
In addition to the new battle pass, there are three new maps joining the rotation in Season 3. The first is Oasis, a Big Team Battle map located in a sandy desert. The second is Cliffhanger, taking place on top of a cliff at an Oni Facility. The third is Chasm, taking place deep within a Forerunner structure, featuring the metallic aesthetic those facilities are known for. There is also a new game mode called Escalation Slayer, which functions similar to Call of Duty’s Gun Game, tasking players with working through different weapons in a match. The final weapon is an Oddball, making for a difficult final kill.
This update also brings some changes to the in-game shop, promising better deals, more frequent item rotations, and more overall items available throughout this season than the previous two. Here’s every reward you can earn in the Halo Infinite Season 3 Echoes Within battle pass.
