Microsoft is holding a press event tomorrow, with ChatGPT expected to feature heavily
You might not have to wait long to see how Microsoft and OpenAI deepen their relationship. Microsoft has confirmed plans for an event tomorrow (invitations were sent out last week) at its Redmond headquarters at 1PM Eastern. The company will only say that chief Satya Nadella will share details on some “exciting projects,” but it’s expected to show its integration of ChatGPT into Bing and other uses of the conversational AI technology.
Microsoft is already heavily invested in OpenAI’s ecosystem with a DALL-E graphic design app, a natural language programming tool and a Teams Premium service with AI translations and chapters. ChatGPT is coming to Azure cloud services, too, and Microsoft just released a GPT-based text generator trained on medical literature. The rumored Bing feature may be its most prominent OpenAI collaboration yet, however. Rumors suggest Microsoft’s search engine will use ChatGPT for conversation-style answers to questions. You might get exactly the information you need rather than cards and a list of search results.
Microsoft first invested in OpenAI in 2019, and backed the startup again in 2021. Last month, it committed to a “multibillion dollar” deal that’s unofficially believed to be worth $10 billion over several years.
The news comes shortly after Google offered a first look at Bard, its take on a ChatGPT-style service. While Google eventually plans to make Bard public, it’s starting out by offering a limited version to a handful of trusted users before scaling up. The firm wants to be sure Bard meets high standards for “quality, safety and groundedness” to avoid some of the ethical and factual problems seen with OpenAI’s product.
Both Google and Microsoft are under pressure. While Google was initially reluctant to release its description-based AI to the public, reports suggested the company had a change of heart after seeing ChatGPT as a threat to its search business. Microsoft, meanwhile, has long struggled to compete in search and faces fierce rivalries in both the cloud and productivity realms. OpenAI’s tech theoretically gives Microsoft an advantage Google and others might not match for a while.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s ‘plans for another Netflix series’ revealed by insider – and it’ll be ‘heavily scripted’
HARRY and Meghan are understood to be plotting more Netflix series – but not about themselves this time.
The Sussexes plan to make “fun” flicks that will include romcoms, feelgood and light-hearted programmes, an insider claimed.
The pair released their ‘Harry and Meghan’ series last year[/caption]
All will have a “heavy focus on fictional scripted content”, a source told The Daily Telegraph.
A pal of the California-based duo added: “They’ve had enough of being in the spotlight for now.”
The pair will become executive producers on the shows as they continue with their multi-year £88million Netflix deal, it is understood.
Harry previously revealed he used to binge-watch hit US sitcom Friends, and Meghan said she watched rom-com flick When Harry Met Sally “a million times”.
It is not known when the couple’s new “fun” content is due to air or what it will be.
But Heart of Invictus, a series following competitors as they prepare for Harry’s Invictus Games, will hit Netflix this summer.
It follows a turbulent year for the pair that saw the release of their explosive ‘Harry and Meghan’ docu-series.
The Sussexes launched relentless salvos at the Royal Family in six-partner, blasting the “hierarchy” and accusing them of treating women badly.
They even passed off Katie Price footage as proof the couple were “hounded” by the media.
And one scene saw Meghan exaggerate a curtsy to poke fun at the royals — and compare their traditions to a tacky US medieval restaurant chain.
Describing meeting The Queen, she stoops absurdly low as Harry looks on.
The documentary was the first Netflix hit for the pair, after Meghan’s animation series Pearl, which she worked on with David Furnish, was canned last May.
Then on January 10, Harry released memoir Spare, becoming one of the fastest selling books ever.
Bombshell revelations included Harry’s virginity story and the boast that he gunned down 25 Taliban fighters in Afghanistan.
Meghan has also released several episodes of her Spotify podcast Archetypes.
Guests in the ten episodes have included tennis legend Serena Williams and Canada’s First Lady Sophie Trudeau.
AMD’s Ryzen 7000 processors are heavily discounted in the US and UK
We’re seeing big discounts on AMD’s recently released Ryzen 7000 processors for Black Friday, with extremely heavy reductions on the Ryzen 9 7950X flagship and more modest price cuts on the 7900X, 7700X and 7600X. All four are now significantly cheaper than they were on launch, and with similar discounts to DDR5 RAM and AM5 motherboards, it’s a great time to build a new Ryzen 7000 PC.

A Helldivers Sequel Has Been Heavily Teased
It’s been years since Arrowhead Game Studio’s shoot-em-up Helldivers first landed, and fans have been clamoring for a follow-up ever since. If a recent tease from the studio is any indication, a Helldivers sequel is much more likely than folks might have believed.
In a TikTok posted to the studio’s Twitter account this morning, its social media manager is seen innocently starting their workday before being bombarded by demands from fans for a Helldivers sequel. Most interestingly, just before they open their browser, a folder can be seen just above it, titled “SECRET ARROWHEAD GAME PROJECT,” not only confirming that it’s working on something new, but heavily implying the project is a sequel to the studio’s beloved game.

To make things more interesting, a Helldivers sequel just so happened to be included in the now-infamous, and repeatedly correct, NVIDIA GeForce leak. This year alone, major sequels like Kingdom Hearts IV and Dragon’s Dogma 2, which appeared in the leak, were confirmed to be in development, lending a lot of weight to the teaser from Arrowhead.
Diablo Immortal bug heavily nerfs Necromancer Shepherd set
Players are reporting a Diablo Immortal bug which appears to be delivering a heavy nerf to Necromancer minions when wearing the Shepherd’s Call to Wolves set in the RPG game. The set, which is one of the favoured endgame Diablo Immortal builds for Necromancer – described by Maxroll as “possibly the best set for them in the entire game for both PvP and PvE” – is currently suffering from the apparent loss of one of its key buffs.
The issue has been highlighted by multiple posts on the Diablo Immortal bug report forums on the Blizzard website, which all report that the expected damage buff is not being applied to the Necromancer’s minions, although the attack speed buff appears to be working as expected. Several replies across the threads corroborate that they are running into the same issue.
By default, the Shepherd set applies three levels of bonus depending upon how many pieces you have equipped. With two pieces on, your summons will deal 15% additional damage. Equip four pieces, and your critical hit chance is increased by 3% for each summon you have active up to a maximum bonus of 18%.
