Three maps, a new weapon, and multiple modes en route in Echoes Within
Despite still being in beta, the Halo Infinite Forge has just passed one million creations, an impressive feat for a game that’s had a rough time.
We all know that Halo Infinite hasn’t been exactly what everyone hoped it would be, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a pretty active community there. According to Michael Schorr, lead designer on the Forge mode, the beta is doing very well in fact, as it has apparently passed one million creations total (via Xbox Wire).
“We followed up the release of the Forge Beta with the addition of the Custom Game Browser in December, allowing players to host and connect to custom matches, including Forge creations,” wrote Schorr. “As of January 2, more than 8.5 million custom matches had been played since Custom Game Browser launched.” The one million creations stat was also from January 2, and considering Forge only launched in November last year, that’s not a bad set of figures at all.
With the Halo Infinite Season 3 release date on the horizon, series developer 343 Industries has shared a look at all the content you can expect when the new season launches later this month in the FPS game, but one previously promised addition has been shifted further down the pipeline.

Halo Infinite has been in an extended slump since its second season began 10-months ago, but 343 Industries are hoping to turn things around when Season 3: Echoes Within starts next week on March 7th. Echoes Within is undeniably the biggest update to Infinite since launch, as it’s adding new maps, weapons and equipment, and expanding the multiplayer’s narrative – which has been a series of perpetual teases so far.
Halo Infinite Season 3 is finally almost here after having been delayed by several months, with a new trailer here to show off what we can expect.
It’s no secret that Halo Infinite has had a rough time ever since it launched. That continues up to now, as the game’s upcoming Season 3, titled Echoes Within, is finally launching March 7, after pushing it back by a few months in September. The roadmap did give us some snapshots of what to expect, but a new trailer finally shows it off in action, including three new maps, a new weapon, and a new piece of equipment.
The Arena mode will add in two new maps, Cliffhanger, a large open area literally based on a cliff that looks to have a lot of rocky options when it comes to cover, and Chasm, an indoor map adorned with those classic laser bridges. For Big Team Battle, there’s the new 8v8 Oasis map, a desert-themed area with plenty of space for driving a warthog around.
343 Industries outlines its Halo Infinite update for mid-February, which includes grenade nerfs, a reduction in power spawns for Ranked Arena, and a direct response to the ‘drop weapon meta’ employed by competitive players looking to climb the Halo Infinite ranks. There’s also some nice buffs for the S7 Sniper and a number of bug fixes for the FPS game.
