Square Enix’s Life-Sim Harvestella Gets Big Discount At Amazon
Square Enix’s Harvestella is on sale for Nintendo Switch just $35 at Amazon and Best Buy. This is the lowest price we’ve seen since the game launched for Nintendo Switch and PC last November. (original price $60) right now at Amazon and GameStop. It launched just a few weeks ago on November 4 for Nintendo Switch and PC, making this Harvestella’s lowest price so far.
If you want to play it on PC, you can snag a Steam key from Green Man Gaming for $42. The PC version is fully compatible with Steam Deck, too.
Former The Sims studio head is working on a competing life-sim, Life By You
During yesterday’s Paradox Announcement Showcase, we were witness to a teaser trailer for an eerily familiar game called Life By You. Why is it familiar? Well, it looks an awful lot like Paradox’s take on The Sims.
It also comes as no surprise either, considering Life By You is being developed by Paradox Tectonic, with development led by former The Sims studio head and former Second Life CEO, Rod Humble.
The very brief trailer shown for Life By You shows your typical suburban neighbourhood, where players will seemingly get to construct houses of their own. We also get a glimpse inside these homes, where you see characters going about their day-to-day lives. And in all honesty, things look quite rough around the edges. Check it out for yourself in the video embedded above.

Disney Dreamlight Valley early access review: a life-sim for Mickey stans
Disney Dreamlight Valley is a glittering life simulator in which you — having somehow slipped out of the real world into a kind of Disney-sponsored coma — find yourself living alongside all of your favourite intellectual property. Your mission? Emotionally manipulate the awful dog-beast Goofy by gifting him dandelions and bream until he becomes your best friend, then set about working on Scrooge McDuck and the rest.
Before we dive too far into this thing: if you’re here because you’ve got a kid and you just want to know if Disney Dreamlight Valley will make them happy, and that the rat from Ratatouille doesn’t say the f-word, and that at no point does Ariel drag herself onto the beach to try to recruit them into a multi-level marketing scam, then you’re golden. Disney Dreamlight Valley is a top-marks Animal Crossing rip-off that will make fans of too-big mice irreversibly giddy. Your children may eventually need a special operation to stop them smiling.
Rift of the Necrodancer trailer promises a life-sim rhythm game mashup
Brace Yourself Games released a new Rift of the Necrodancer trailer for Gamescom, and the Crypt of the Necrodancer sequel is looking quite a bit like a life game-meets-rhythm game. Rather than focusing on a rhythm adventure like its predecessor, Rift of the Necrodancer is split into several modes, including one we didn’t expect.
