Nintendo Indie World Showcase set for April 19
A new Nintendo Indie World showcase has been announced today! Better yet, it’s set to go live tomorrow, meaning you won’t have to wait long for a fresh update on the next wave of interesting indie titles coming to the Nintendo Switch.
This update comes via the official Nintendo Twitter account, which promises roughly 20 minutes of “reveals, announcements, and updates”. There’s been no official word on what specific games are going to be shown, so you’ll just have to tune in live to find out.
As for when the Indie World Showcase will go live? You can expect the show to start at 9AM Pacific / 12PM Eastern / 5PM UK / 6PM Europe time.
Hacker Gary Bowser released from prison early, still owes Nintendo $14.5 million
In April 2020, Bowser, who shares the same name as Nintendo of America’s president (and a certain Nintendo character), was arrested along with fellow Team Xecuter member Max Louarn on 11 felony counts of piracy. The group created tools like modchips and jailbreaks that allowed buyers to circumvent Nintendo’s security…
GameStop’s buy one, get one free sale includes popular PS5 and Nintendo Switch games
GameStop is running a buy-one-get-one (BOGO) sale on select console games. The deal covers unopened Switch, PlayStation and Xbox games, including popular titles like Octopath Traveler 2, Forspoken, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD and many others. The deal applies to online and in-store purchases.
Nintendo Switch owners can apply the BOGO deal to Bayonetta 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, Octopath Traveler 2, Skyward Sword HD (a chance to revisit a remake of an older Zelda game ahead of the Tears of the Kingdom launch next month), Mario Strikers: Battle League, Mario Golf: Super Rush and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.
PS5 owners can choose from Forspoken, The Callisto Protocol (Day One Edition), Valkyrie Elysium, Deathloop, Call of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042. Meanwhile, if you own an Xbox Series X / S, the deal is good for The Callisto Protocol Day One Edition, Gotham Knights, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Saints Row: Criminal Custom Edition, NHL 23 and Madden 23.
If you have more than one console, you can mix and match the BOGO games between platforms. Although GameStop hasn’t announced an end date for the sale, the retailer’s fine print notes that prices may change and the offer is only good while supplies last. If you aren’t sure where to start, you can browse Engadget’s picks for the best Switch, PS5 and Xbox games for 2023.
If you’re stocked up on games, the retailer also has a buy one, get one half-off sale on toys and clothing (including several Funko Pops and t-shirts). It’s also offering price cuts on PC gaming peripherals (including popular mice, keyboards and microphones) and 60 percent off a pair of third-party Xbox controllers.

New Zelda-Themed Nintendo Switch Controller Up For Preorder At Amazon
Head’s up Zelda collectors: A new Zelda-themed Switch Pro controller just dropped from PowerA. You can grab the new “Sworn Protector” controller for $45 at Amazon.
The Sword Protector controller sports a unique design based on Link’s iconic weapons, with an off-white and blue color scheme, a red Hylian crest in the center, and a decal of the Master Sword and Hylian Shield from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the left grip. The design is officially licensed by Nintendo.
Along with the heroic theme, PowerA’s Sword Protector controller also includes two extra programmable buttons on the rear of the gamepad. While it does not support rumble, Amiibo, gyro, or IR functionality that you get on a standard Switch Pro controller, it does include Bluetooth 5.0–meaning you can also connect it to your PC or mobile devices–and boasts a battery life of up to 30 hours on a single charge.
Minecraft Legends For Nintendo Switch Is Discounted Ahead Of Tomorrow’s Launch
Tomorrow sees the release of Minecraft Legends, a new spin-off set in Mojang’s blocky universe. While Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get the game day one as part of the service, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch fans will have to pay a retail price to experience the action-strategy game. Fortunately, Switch players still have time to grab the deluxe version of the game at a reduced cost, as it’s just $44 at Super Shop with GameSpot’s exclusive promo code GAMESPOTMCFT.
Super Shop offers free shipping, and while you won’t be playing on launch day, orders typically arrive within a few days.

The perfect Lego Nintendo Game Boy doesn’t exist…
Nick Lever, video editor and Lego Masters Australia finalist, has recreated the original Nintendo Game Boy in bricks — and with such droolworthy depth that I hereby petition Lego to make it into an official set.
It’s just 364 pieces, only 115 different parts, most of them common enough you can find ‘em dirt cheap. Almost every recognizable facet of the Game Boy is represented, from the angled rice-grain Start / Select buttons to the distinctive tint of the screen — achieved here by placing lime green tiles underneath a trans-blue window.
While there’s no removable battery tray or front speaker, you can indeed press down on the D-pad and click in a “cartridge.” You might want to take a close look at those A and B buttons, too…
