Steam Deck shipments get further ahead of schedule, Valve now fulfilling Q4 orders
For what is now the fifth time in a row, Valve have announced that waiting Steam Deck reservation holders will get their SteamOS handheld earlier than anticipated. That’s thanks to yet another uptick in production speed, according to a Steam Community post, so everyone whose delivery estimate was in Q3 2022 should now have received their confirmation email. Fulfilment of the final remaining Q4 batch is now fully underway, after a smaller handful of lucky Q4-ers were bumped forward into Q3.

‘Large’ hydrogen leak foils NASA’s schedule for Artemis I mission
NASA will not attempt to launch its Space Launch System in the coming days, the agency announced today, skipping potential launch windows on Monday and Tuesday. The announcement comes after two scrubbed launch attempts of the massive rocket, and will likely result in a delay of several weeks.
August 29th, 2022 was supposed to be the debut launch of the Space Launch System (SLS). That launch attempt was scrubbed after engineers noticed an issue with the temperature of one of the rocket’s four engines. Today, a second launch attempt was foiled by a persistent hydrogen leak that Artemis mission manager Michael Sarafin described as “large,” in a press conference after the scrub. A small hydrogen leak was also noticed during the attempt on…

The 2022 video game release schedule is getting worse every single week
You know what it’s like at the beginning of a new year. You’re all excited about the many tens and hundreds of new video games coming out over the next 12 months, and you go and make a big list of all the ones you’re really looking forward to. We did exactly that back in January of this year, coming up with a list of our 43 most anticipated games of 2022. Lately, though, it seems we can’t go a single day without word of yet another game being delayed, whether it’s just by a couple of months, or that it’s been taken off the calendar entirely.
It got me thinking. How many of those 43 games are even still on the table this year? And, more importantly, what does that mean for RPS as we head into the back-end of 2022? Well, I went back and counted, folks, and it’s not great reading. At time of writing, just over half that number – 27 in total – are still slated for a 2022 release right now, although with many still listed as a very vague ‘2022’ or ‘Coming Soon’ on their Steam pages, I wouldn’t be surprised if that number fell further. Needless to say, I’m not sure 2022 will go down as one of the great gaming years… 2023, on the other hand? Wow, that’s looking rad.
Pokémon World Championships: Full schedule and Pokémon GO Twitch codes
The Pokemon World Championships has finally returned to an in-person event in London, and all of the action throughout the weekend will be streamed live on Twitch.
That isn’t all that there is to be excited about either, given that there are going to be multiple Pokemon GO code giveaways during the stream too.
The championships have already started, with things kicking off at 9am BST on Thursday 18 August. However, if you haven’t had the time to tune in yet, don’t fear; the event, and stream, will be running until Sunday, 21 August.
