The 2022 MacBook Air M2 is at its lowest price ever — but there’s a catch for holiday shoppers
Save $200: As of Dec. 14, the 2022 Apple MacBook Air M2 (8GB, 256GB) is now $999 at Amazon. The 17% discount knocks this down to its best price ever, however, it only applies to two color options and won’t arrive until after Christmas.
Last-minute gift shopping is often fickle. The best example might be how Amazon just dropped the latest MacBook Air to its best price ever, but with a few caveats to keep in mind if you’re scrambling to complete your list.
As of right now, the 2022 MacBook Air M2 with 256GB storage is only $999 at Amazon. This is the lowest price we’ve seen so far, but unfortunately, this price applies to just the midnight or starlight color options. And Amazon’s current shipping estimate says it arrives after Christmas. This isn’t great if you need a gift for someone else, but not a problem if you just want a gift for yourself.
Our original MacBook Air M2 review highlights how it might be the preferred WFH laptop. The model on sale features 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage on a solid-state drive. The revamped M2 chip is what powers all of it to run your apps at lightning speed. And with up to 18 hours of battery life and an ultra-lightweight design, it’s an ideal option if you’re constantly on the move while working.
You might actually enjoy looking at a screen all the time due to the 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, which is bigger than the 13.3-inch display of the older M1 model. It supports up to a billion colors and up to 500 nits of brightness to make sure you see every detail. And for those on lots of video calls, they’ll definitely love the upgrade to a 1080p HD FaceTime camera versus the lacking 720p camera of the M1. On top of all of these upgrades, there’s the Magic Keyboard that makes typing feel like a breeze while being ultra-quiet.
