During today’s Silent Hill Transmission, we didn’t just see the Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill Townfall, and Silent Hill F revealed. We also were privy to the reveal of a new film, Return to Silent Hill, and something a little more unusually packaged… Silent Hill: Ascension.
This is perhaps the most excitement we’ve had since was via PT, the playable teaser for Silent Hills. This was to be Hideo Kojima’s take on the series, and given the demo, people were very much preparing for Silent Hill to scare them senseless again. That said, Silent Hills didn’t see the light of day and PT remains an enigma.
It’s been a long few years since we heard from Silent Hill, so it’s rather nice to see the series attempting to come back with full force, in the form of multiple types of media.
After years of rumours and leaks, including by Konami themselves earlier today, we finally have official confirmation of future Silent Hill games. The Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team is real! The developers of Observation are making a new Silent Hill game! There’s a third new game called Silent Hill f! Step below for the full list of what’s kicking off in that foggy town.
Confirming several sets of Silent Hill rumours, Konami has now confirmed that the Silent Hill 2 remake is currently in development by Polish studio Bloober Team, the developer of horror games like Layers of Fear and The Medium.
Revealed during Konami’s Silent Hill Transmission today, the first we’ve seen of the series since Silent Hills cancellation aside from a range of rumours and leaks, the Silent Hill series is going to be in receipt of another new game, called Silent Hill: Townfall.
Konami has recruited the work of Scottish developer No Code to develop the episodic series’ of Silent Hill games, with Annapurna Interactive as publisher.
No Code is known for Stories Untold and Observation, with Annapurna Interactive being publisher of various hits such as What Remains of Edith Finch, Neon White, and Stray. It seems like a promising pairing.
