Jake Paul vows to “f*** up” Anderson Silva after intense final face-off
Jake Paul reveals what he told Anderson Silva during intense face-off ahead of fight with UFC legend
JAKE PAUL warned Anderson Silva that it is his time to shine ahead of the biggest fight of his life.
The YouTuber-turned boxer returns over the weekend in Arizona, in his first bout in ten months.

And he has enjoyed a pleasant build up with Silva – the man he once looked up to – but it has been a story of idol-turned rival for Paul.
He roared: “I said to him ‘it’s my generation, it’s my time’. To be a legend you’ve got to beat a legend.
“It’s time for war, I asked him if he’s ready. It’s been nice nice nice, it’s been swet sweet sweet.
“I respect that man but he’s trying to take the food off of my plate, he’s trying to stop my run.

“Tomorrow night, guess what? I’m f****ng him up, I’m f****ng him up!”
Paul, 25, hit the scales at 186.5lb, under the agreed upon catchweight with Silva, who came in at 186.1lb.
The Brazilian said: “I’m so happy to be here and tomorrow I’m going to do my best to make a good show for everyone.
“Of course I’m going to win, I’m training for that fight.”

Paul’s five prior wins all came around the 190lb mark and he wanted to return at 185lb but Silva negotiated a compromise of 187lb.
The American has come down in weight as he eyes a shock run at the light-heavyweight title of 175lb.
He last fought in December, knocking out Tyron Woodley, 40, four months after beating the ex-UFC champion on points.
That added to KOs over online rival AnEsonGib, ex-NBA star Nate Robinson, 38, and retired UFC welterweight Ben Askren, also 38.

Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva ON after UFC icon passes MRI scan and medical exams after UFC legend’s fitness was assessed
ANDERSON SILVA has been deemed medically fit to fight Jake Paul after passing MRI scan and medical exams.
The pair are due to fight over eight rounds in Arizona this weekend.
But Silva, 47, caused concern after saying he was knocked out two times in training for the 187lb catchweight clash with Paul, 25.
The UFC legend – speaking at the open workout – later clarified that it was just kidology and lost in translation.
But the Arizona commission reacted by organising a meeting at 6.30pm local time to discuss the claims.
Silva took an MRI scan on Wednesday, which along with previous medical exams all came back with “pristine” results.

Commissioner Ara J. Feinstein, a trauma surgeon and ringside doctor, passed the Brazilian fit to fight.
He said: “Given all the work we’ve done on concussion protocol and emphasis we’ve been placing on fighter safety, it just left me really concerned.
“However, once I had further information, the letter from Silva, the written statement from his trainer, and more importantly, the results of the medical examinations and the approval of the physician reading the report, I became much more comfortable, and I have no objections to Mr. Silva participating in the event this Saturday.”
Yancy Jencsok, the commission’s legal rep, added: “If commission has no concerns, they don’t need to do anything at all.”

Paul reacted to the news by tweeting: “Stop playing with me! #PaulSilva is 1000% happening.”
Silva initially addressed the comments when speaking to media members just three days out from the fight.
He said: “Listen guys, let me tell you something very important.
“When I talk about the guys doing the hard sparring and the knockout, it was just joking.
“Because I’m training with the young kids and the guys asked me, and I don’t put nothing bad in my mind, and the guys say, ‘Oh, Anderson take knockout in training.’
“Of course not. I just like to help and put my partners up, that’s the question.”
Silva made the controversial comments during an interview with MMA Weekly.

He said: “I’m training hard for win — I’m training with the good boxers, high-level, and five guys come to help me.
“And the last sparring with [my sparring partner], he is knocked me out two times, and when I finish my training, I talked to my coach and even said, ‘Coach, let me tell you something, why the guys knock me out two times?’
“And the coach said, ‘You need to prepare for war, and you prepare for war.’”
Silva’s trainer Luiz Carlos Dorea denied the comments and Silva later released a statement addressing the situation.
He wrote: “After seeing the reports and concern for me, I’d like to clarify two important things. One, I was NEVER knocked out in sparring.
“I misspoke in that interview as I sometimes do when interviewing in English and exaggerated the normal back-and-forth action that occurs in sparring.

“Second, this sparring session I referenced was in early September.
“The interview with MMA Weekly was done on Sept. 13 and, for some reason, just released this week. So, it wasn’t recent.”

‘He’s the only one who gets close to Cristiano’ – Haaland compared to Man Utd star Ronaldo by Bernardo Silva
BERNARDO SILVA says Manchester City’s ‘Special Ron’ will strike fear into the hearts of the Kop tomorrow afternoon.
The Portuguese international reckons new boy Erling Haaland has the kind of predatory instincts he has only seen before in Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bernardo Silva is delighted to see Erling Haaland grabbing so many goals[/caption]
And he hopes with the 20-goal Norwegian Terminator on board, the champions have the ‘weapons’ to bury their Anfield hoodoo once and for all.
City have won only once at the home of Liverpool since 2002 –— and that came in February 2021 when the stadium was empty.
But now they have Haaland, 22, who has already scored on Merseyside, back in his days playing for Red Bull Salzburg.
His explosive start to life at City has led Bernardo to compare him to his long-term international team-mate CR7 — who netted his 700th club goal at Everton on Sunday.

The former Monaco man said: “I was speaking with a few friends the other day and I said he is the only player who gets close to Cristiano in terms of knowing where the ball will land inside the box.
“He’s got that smell of knowing where it lands and he’s so quick and strong, which is not easy for the defenders.
“Can he reach the same standards? Well, I’m playing with Erling so I hope so but the standards are so high.
“Cristiano has won five Ballon d’Ors, five Champions Leagues.

“You never know what will happen in the future. Erling’s still very young, still got a lot to do but the mentality is there, so yes.”
Pep Guardiola’s men have the edge over Liverpool in terms of trophies won, leading the Premier League title count 4-1 over the last five years.
But the Reds have enjoyed the better of the head-to-heads.
City have won only three of their last 14 meetings in all competitions — and none of the last four.
Yet Bernardo believes the prospect of facing an in-form Haaland will have their old rivals worried.
He told Arab News: “We have always had good results over the last few years but it’s true that now we have a player up front that is so strong, big.

“And the other teams fear a little bit of that. Personally, I feel if me and the other midfielders and defenders do our jobs properly then we have so much quality up front.
“Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Erling, they can decide the games, they can take care of the rest.
“But we have to do a proper job, control the rhythm of the game and then we know the weapons we have up front.”
Incredibly, City’s win on Merseyside in the Covid-hit 2020-21 season was only their second at Anfield in four decades.
Yet Bernardo says they are making the short journey down the M62 in good heart after an impressive start to the season.
He added: “We know how difficult it is to play at Anfield, with their crowd, but we are going to try because we are feeling good at the moment.
I’m amazed by the way Erling’s such a nice guy
Bernardo Silva
“We have always tried to win there in the past but just couldn’t. We won just one season there, for many different reasons and in different circumstances.
“But the team feels good. Our levels of confidence are very high at the moment.”
Liverpool have been City’s main rivals over the past few seasons but find themselves down in mid-table — and 14 points off the top this morning.
Their hopes of challenging for the title will surely be over if they lose tomorrow but Bernardo says Jurgen Klopp’s men are just as dangerous as ever.
He said: “It doesn’t make any difference how they have started, what their form is like, honestly.
“What they did in the last five years you can’t look at them and think, ‘Oh, they are a bit weak at the moment’. No chance.

Haaland was unsurprisingly named September Player of the Month[/caption]
“They are so strong and it is going to be so difficult for us.”
Having Haaland in their line-up is sure to help though — and Bernardo says it is not just the goals that have impressed his team-mates.
There have been plenty of them already, of course, but the £51.4million striker’s willingness to work like a ‘beast’ for his new club has stood out.
Silva added: “The goals, we knew he could do that.
“But I’m amazed by the way he’s such a nice guy and accepts he is just one more player in the team.

“If you see him running in games, he presses like a beast, like each one of us, that’s top.
“The humility of knowing that it doesn’t matter how good you are or how much better you are. You have to set the example and run more for the team — and he does that.”
