DC Universe Infinite launches Ultra tier so you can read new comics sooner
DC’s adding a new Ultra tier to its Universe Infinite comic book subscription service that lets you digitally read comics just one month after they hit store shelves (via Gizmodo). The new tier launches on Monday at an introductory price of $99 / year, but this price only lasts until November 28th and DC doesn’t specify how much it will cost after that.
Currently, users have to wait six months after a new comic hits DC Universe Infinite. While the new tier could make the service more attractive to diehard comic book fans, it’s considerably more expensive than the $74.99 / year or $7.99 / month standard subscription option.
In addition to a shorter launch window, DC’s throwing in 5,000 exclusive titles from Vertigo, DC Black Label, and…
World of Warcraft cross-faction guilds may happen sooner than expected
World of Warcraft cross-faction guilds are something of an unfulfilled dream for many players of the venerable MMORPG. It’s not uncommon to find out a new friend plays WoW, only to be told that they’re kicking back in Orgrimmar while you’re shooting the breeze in Stormwind.
Shadowlands went some way to address this, adding in cross-faction grouping which allowed once sworn enemies to party up for PvE content. Unfortunately this has limitations, and doesn’t work for Dungeon/Raid Finder, or for guilds. Thankfully for those who want to give Peacecraft a chance, Blizzard are working on this, according to WoW game director Ion Hazzikostas.

Your Steam Deck release date might be sooner than you thought
Valve is taking steps to full its promise that your Steam Deck release date will actually be in 2022, if you placed a pre-order. The Steam maker posted an announcement on Twitter saying they were stepping up the number of Steam Deck orders fulfilled each week once more and reminded anyone with a pre-order to check their email in case it slips through. Valve says it sends Steam Deck emails on Mondays and Thursdays during the morning hours. Make sure to keep an eye on your inboxes, and as Valve recommended previously, check your other folders. Some Steam Deck emails wind up in junk mail, and even though Valve holds the reservation for a few days, it’s not a good position to be in.

Respawn wants cross progression in Apex Legends “sooner rather than later”, working on in-game gifting
A vast new sweep of information regarding the future of Apex Legends has been revealed, via an early press and influencer briefing we attended last week. Alongside multiple reveals regarding Season 14 and significant changes to Kings Canyon, we’ve learnt more about Respawn’s long term goals via a Q&A – including info on cross progression, ranked changes, and in-game gifting.
These further out additions haven’t got any date attributed to them yet, instead being tinkered with in the background. According to senior game designer Eric Canavese: “We are actively working on gifting to other players right now, but we want to make sure it’s something people enjoy, something that doesn’t feel grindy”.
On Cross Progression, Evan stated: “We’re actively working on cross progression, but there’s no release date on it. The game wasn’t built with it in mind, which makes it complicated. But I hear you, and I want cross progression too. It’s something we’re definitely working on – we want it sooner than later.”
