Witcher Spin-Off Project Sirius Has a ‘New Framework’ Following Development Restart
The devs behind Moonlighter have just released their League Of Legends spin-off RPG
After bingeing the Netflix show Arcane and getting hooked on the world of League Of Legends, I was disappointed to find there weren’t too many single-player games for those who aren’t the MOBA-type of keyboard mashers. The top-down action RPG The Mageseeker: A League Of Legends Story is looking to fix that, though, letting you play as the ex-convict and buff mage Sylas while he’s busy running a revolution. It comes from the developers behind the Zelda-like shop roguelite Moonlighter, and it’s out now.
Knuckles spin-off finds its cast and a cowboy hat for the echidna
The cast for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog spin-off series all about Knuckles has been revealed, bringing back some familiar faces and a fan favourite hat.
As reported by Variety, the live-action Knuckles series has now been fully cast outside of Idris Elba returning as the titular character. Joining Elba is Adam Pally, who is also reprising his role as Wade Whipple, the inept deputy cop in Green Hill, from the first two Sonic films. There’s also a bit more story information for the Knuckles show, as it apparently takes place between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (set to release December 20, 2024). Knuckles has apparently agreed “to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.”
As well as Pally, the cast also includes Edi Patterson (Knives Out), Julian Barrat (The Mighty Boosh), Ellie Taylor (Ted Lasso), and Scott Mescudi, also known as Kid Cudi, who performed the main theme of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. They will all have recurring roles in the series, with Game of Throne’s Rory McCann, and Tika Sumpter (who played Maddie in the second Sonic film) making guest appearances. More casting is planned to be announced at a later date – presumably Sonic and Tails will be making an appearance somewhere along the way, but their respective actors (Ben Schwartz and Colleen O’Shaughnessey) weren’t mentioned in the cast list.
Netflix is making an animated ‘Stranger Things’ spin-off
Like Vecna’s creepy, encroaching tendrils, the Stranger Things universe is continuing to expand. Netflix has announced an animated series based on one of its biggest hits. The company hasn’t revealed many details about the latest spin-off just yet. Glitch Techs and Fanboy & Chum Chum creator Eric Robles and Flying Bark Productions are developing the animated series. Stranger Things creators the Duffer brothers and producer Shawn Levy are also involved.
“We’ve always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realized has been absolutely thrilling,” the Duffer brothers told Variety in a statement. “We couldn’t be more blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have come up with — the scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can’t wait to share more with you! The adventure continues…”
The original show has been renewed for a fifth and final season, but that and the animated show are far from the only Stranger Things projects in the pipeline. A VR game is slated to arrive later this year, while a stage show prequel is set to debut on London’s West End in late 2023. Netflix also announced a live-action spin-off show last year.
The Duffer brothers certainly have a lot of plates in the air. Along with Stranger Things, they’re working on a live-action Death Note series (following a separate movie that hit Netflix several years ago), as well as an adaptation of The Talisman, a book by Stephen King and Peter Straub.

Check out the Super Meat Boy spin-off puzzle game in a free demo
Falling-block puzzle games get a gory makeover in Dr. Fetus’ Mean Meat Machine, a spin-off from Super Meat Boy. Rather than dodging buzzsaws and baddies while platforming, here you’ll be doing that while dropping coloured blobs into grids to match chains of colours and make ’em vanish. You can see that for yourself, as Mean Meat Machine now has a free demo offering a taste ahead of the game’s launch later this year.

Episode 3 of Resident Evil 4 Remake’s anime spin-off is here, and it can’t get much better
As we prepare for the release of Resident Evil 4 Remake, Capcom has been treating us to an adorably bizarre anime spin-off of Leon and Ashley’s adventure, called ‘Leon and the Mysterious Village.’
The third episode in the series, which comes from the talented folk at Nippon Animation, is titled “Help us, Old Man” and runs at just a few seconds longer than prior episodes, lasting one minute and two seconds.
That said, these episodes are truly short but sweet, and fans – including myself – have been eager for more since the spin-off’s conception just last week. Capcom, of course, has delivered. And much like the other Episode 1 and Episode 2, this one doesn’t end well for our beloved duo.
Resident Evil 4 Remake’s anime spin-off gets a second episode
As we all prepare for the release of Resident Evil 4 Remake on Friday, Capcom is gearing us up with an array of short, minute-long anime episodes promoting the game. Today, we were privy to a second episode!
The first episode of the show — coined ‘Leon and the Mysterious Village’ — debuted just a few days ago. The episode showed off a very confused Leon’s descent into the village, and later, his ascent into the stars with a bunch of Colmillos as he dies. It was bizarre, but honestly, very wholesome.
Today, Capcom launched a second episode of the show on YouTube, animated by the popular studio, Nippon Animation. Running at just 54 seconds, this episode is titled ‘A promise between the two’, and it summed up my thoughts of the game perfectly.
