Haunted Chocolatier development paused while dev works on Stardew Valley 1.6 update
Eric Barone, the sole creator of the hit farming-simulator and RPG, Stardew Valley, has temporarily paused development on his upcoming game, Haunted Chocolatier. The new game is another simulation-RPG, anticipated to be much darker than its spiritual predecessor.
Barone hasn’t detailed exactly how long he is pausing development for, but it is only temporary. The pause in development comes as a result of the Stardew Valley 1.6 update, which Barone announced during the summer of last year.
While we were told the grand 1.5 update for Stardew Valley would be the last big content update of its kind back in 2021, Barone clearly can’t stay away, and neither can fans. The 1.6 update will add new content to the game, but not at all on the same scale that the 1.5 update did. The new update will also feature more tools and resources for modders, and while Barone works to get it live, he’s had to halt his work on Haunted Chocolatier in the meantime.
Horrifying moment man plunges down ravine while being spun around in ‘astronaut training chair’ after it falls apart
THIS is the terrifying moment a man plunged down a ravine while being spun around on a rickety “‘astronaut training chair”.
The squeals of excitement from onlookers soon turned to screams of terror as the bloke tumbled off the cliff edge in Ayacucho, Peru.
The man was seen grimacing as two operators sent him into a stomach-churning spin[/caption]

The bloke then plunges down the ravine in front of his horrified pals in Ayacucho, Peru[/caption]
In the footage, he is seen strapped into the dodgy contraption at the Cabrapata viewing point which boasts panoramic views of the city.
Two operators grab onto the chair every few seconds to send it into another stomach-churning spin as the crowd watches intently.
Bystanders can be heard laughing in delight as their pal flies in different directions on the chair, which is propped up by two metal posts.
But after 20 seconds of rotating, the frame began to buckle under the pressure and suddenly fell off without warning down the ravine.
The daredevil was still strapped into the DIY space simulator as he horrifyingly slipped away in front of his pals.
A shocked friend filming the stunt let out a blood-curdling scream, just moments after they were revelling at the man’s terror.
Miraculously, the bloke somehow cheated death and survived the spectacular fall.
It is thought that the frail frame that wobbled off the cliff edge saved his life, as he was strapped in to protect his head.
The thrill seeker was rushed to hospital after his near-fatal pursuit of fun, but is said to now be recovering well.
The chair is a budget version of the state-of-the-art Multi Axis Trainer used by space agencies to teach astronauts how to survive high-speed spins in weightless conditions.
The cliffside viewing point that the device was situated on is popular with tourists thanks to its spectacular views.
Extreme rides and walkways have sprung up at the beauty spot as people look to cash in on adventurous tourists who expect theme park safety standards.
Officials are now cracking down on all of them over safety fears and have closed them all pending safety checks, local media reports.

Terrified Family Shadowed by HEAVY BIPEDAL CRYPTID While Hiking in Central Pennsylvania
A central Pennsylvania family is on a hike along Bald Eagle Ridge. They begin to hear heavy footfalls near them, then heavy tree branch breaks. Was it a Bigfoot or a cryptid canine?
“I’m a 54-year-old husband father and grandfather who also served in the Navy straight out of high school for a few years. This all took place on one of the longest mountain ranges here in Central Pennsylvania. There’s a mountain ridge called the Bald Eagle Ridge that runs southwest to northeast and runs for about 60 miles. It’s the last mountain ridge before hitting the Appalachian Plateau to the west. It’s a very beautiful part of the state of Pennsylvania.
There are very few homes. Most of the population of the state lives in the valleys and not at the tops of the mountains so our mountains are pretty secluded. So the eastern part of the state has small pockets in the outlying areas that are populated and the rest of the state is mainly mountains and forests with no human population.
About 10 years ago my wife and I, along with my 25-year-old son, our two grandchildren, and one of their friends all went for a walk at the reservoir that supplies all the drinking water for this area in central Pennsylvania. The reservoir is set back about a mile from the main road RT 150 and that is an area for walking and hiking. But back then it wasn’t used by many people at all. It was formed from damning the creek that runs down through this valley. The small lake that was formed is beautiful and is abundant with fish and surrounded by the usual wildlife.
Before having two strokes in the last two years I was an avid hunter and fisherman and taught my children and grandchildren to get out and enjoy what nature we have. So, with that being said, my son and I were both armed as we always were to protect us from any animals that may not have the best intentions. We started out a little later than planned but things were going great so far. We walked about a mile or two up into the mountain and were on our way back about three-quarters of a mile from the truck and by this time it was about 9 pm and dark. Everyone had a flashlight. We always take them for reasons like this and we were here before at the same time with nothing to be concerned about, so it was business as usual.
We were all carrying on and enjoying the outdoors and the walk. I want to make it clear now that I got a very uneasy feeling for no reason. I wish I could explain it but I can’t. I know that doesn’t make sense but I just had a very weird feeling. Then I heard what sounded like heavy footsteps faintly but I could hear them over the sounds my family was making. In front of me on the trail, it sounded like something big walking above us, straddling the side hill to our left. It’s a very steep hill.
My son was in the lead, followed by the three children, my wife and then myself bringing up the rear. My son stopped. Then the rest of us stopped. He said, “Listen, Dad, do you hear that?” I was already listening hard and again I could hear what sounded like someone walking to our left on the steep mountainous side of the trail. I’m not going to lie, it startled me. But after gathering my senses I shrugged it off as a deer or some other animal. I told my son to keep moving, but he, myself, and the rest of the group were now focused on what was following us on the upper side of the trail. We were all moving forward and not panicked, just focused.
Just then I heard what sounded like a very large branch being broken from a green tree. My son and the rest of the family also heard it. Then it sounded like a tree or a large boulder was thrown and it was very loud. I’ve heard trees falling over from the wind in the woods while hunting and that’s not what this noise was. There was no wind that night and it was very still and the woods were silent up until this point.
Then we heard what sounded like a very heavy person running. This is all happening 40 or so yards up the steep hillside to our left. We all started to walk fast to get back to the truck. All the flashlights were focused on that side hill but we could see nothing but trees. The rest of the walk was uneventful but the whole way back to the vehicle everyone was on edge and our senses were all on high alert. I don’t know what made that noise that night. I’ve been in the woods long enough to know what the sounds are and what we all heard that night was a deliberately made noise. If I had to make a guess I would say something ripped a tree from the ground and threw it. That’s what it sounded like to me. The rest of the way back the truck was uneventful we saw no eye shine and heard nothing else.
Were we being shadowed by a Bigfoot? I believe so.”

NOTE: This area and lake are located in Bald Eagle State Park in Centre County. It is well-known for Bigfoot and upright canine activity. We have documented several reports over the years. Centre County is a major hotspot in the area that Butch Witkowski and I referred to as the ‘Lycan Loop.’ Lon

Judge rejects Elizabeth Holmes’ bid for freedom while awaiting appeal
A federal judge denied Holmes’s motion for release on Monday as she appealed her conviction on four counts of fraud and conspiracy, as reported by The Guardian. As a result, the Theranos founder is scheduled to report to prison on April 27th.
Holmes has appealed her conviction to the federal ninth circuit court of appeals based on questions about the “accuracy and reliability” of evidentiary and procedural issues in the trial. However, US district court judge Edward Davila ruled Monday that the appeals didn’t meet the burden of a “substantial” questioning of facts or law. According to the judge, the request didn’t address the conviction’s underlying wire-fraud issues against investors. Therefore, it wouldn’t warrant a reversal or new trial (the legal standard for remaining free pending appeal) even if the appeals court agreed with her assertions.
However, the judge ruled against prosecutors hoping to brand Holmes as a flight risk after learning that her partner bought her a one-way ticket for a flight to Mexico. Although the judge described the ticket purchase (and failure to cancel it post-conviction) as a “bold move” and “perilously careless oversight,” he gave her the benefit of the doubt, ruling she was “not likely to flee or pose a danger” to the public.
Last November, the Theranos founder was sentenced to over 11 years in prison for defrauding investors after a jury found her guilty last January. Founded in 2003, Theranos claimed to produce a long list of revealing health results using only a single drop of a patient’s blood. The company raised hundreds of millions of dollars from high-profile investors before internal whistleblowers sourced a 2015 Wall Street Journal story revealing that the startup’s underlying technology was bogus. The story has since become a cautionary tale, with podcasts, books and a recent Hulu miniseries cashing in on the one-time Silicon Valley golden child’s downfall.

While Dark and Darker is caught in a legal battle, a player is bringing the game to Fortnite
While Dark and Darker is still in legal limbo, a sole creator is working on bringing the popular fantasy RPG to a new platform: Fortnite.
This sole developer comes from Fern, a UK-based software engineer who posted a video of their work-in-process project to the Fortnite Creative Reddit. Caught up in the recent tech industry layoffs, they decided to “chill for a bit” and work on personal projects. Thus, the Dark and Darker map.
“The project started back when UEFN didn’t even exist. I believe I started with this idea in Jan 2023. I’d been updating myself on Unreal Engine 5 as I’d done multiple projects with Unreal Engine 4 and wanted to be on the latest version to use nanite, lumen and all the great tech from Epic.”
