This time last year music mogul Diddy shot down a suggestion to engage in a musical battle Jermaine Dupri because he believed the So So Def founder didn’t ‘have enough hits’ (as we reported here).
The Bad Boy leader has since had a change of heart it seems as he’s not only changed his tune about the matter but is also hoping to change the venue that will see he and Dupri go head-to-head in a hits duel.

During a livestreamed conversation with Jermaine Thursday (August 18) about the state of R&B, Diddy (born Sean Combs) broached the topic of a VERZUZ-style showdown (as seen in the clip above).
However, amid reports VERZUZ founders – Swizz Beatz and Timbaland – are suing Triller for $28 million for breach of contract and lack of payment for the platform, Combs does not believe the actual VERZUZ battleground is an option.
“Since we ain’t f*ckin’ around with Verzuz no more since they f*ckin’ around with our boys, we don’t need to be going against each other,” said Diddy. “Let’s come together and do that Bad Boy, So So Def in Atlanta… It ain’t no Verzuz, it’s just hit for hit.”
While some commenters were excited about the news of a possible live showdown between the historic Hip-Hop labels, others felt the diss to VERZUZ was uncalled for.
The response led Diddy to clarify his initial statement.
“Something I wanted to clarify, when me and JD were talking about Verzuz, I mistakenly said Verzuz instead of Triller,” the 52-year-old shared. “We’re not f*ckin’ with Triller until they take care of Tim and Swizz for Verzuz. Nobody f*cks with Triller until they take care of Tim and Swizz for Verzuz, ’cause Tim and Swizz is Verzuz.”
