Global warming is getting itself in line to begin another extinction cycle, and this is nothing new for our solar system. Some three billion years ago, at least according to the paper Evan Gough read, methanogenic microbes caused global cooling which sterilzed our red neighbor. The math checks out, but humanity still needs to determine if Mars once held life. Meanwhile in low martian orbit, Keith Cooper reports on some Strange Structures Found Inside ‘Fearful’ Phobos. An interesting development since scientists already humored the hypothesis of Phobos being hollow but this development is proving to be provocative and could determine if both martian moons were captured, or if they were ejected from Mars during an impact or volcanic eruption.
