When it comes to Hot 100 stats, few can boast the chart victories Ed Sheeran can.
One of the best-selling artists of the digital era, the English hitmaker – with hits like ‘Thinking Out Loud,’ ‘Shape of You,’ ‘Perfect,’ and more – has seen his name attached to a number of milestones on the 64-year-old tally including being the first artist to debut multiple songs in the top 10 in the same week and more.
Far from fly-by-night hits, Sheeran’s songs have exhibited some serious staying power over the years – a tenancy that led him to be penciled in Hot 100 record books again recently.
See how inside.
On the penultimate publish of the Hot 100, while his fellow English singer-songwriter Harry Styles was being praised for seeing the hit ‘As It Was’ become the longest-running #1 hit of the century by a solo male, Sheeran saw his smash hit ‘Shivers’ listed at #34 after a year of charting.
Found aboard his October 2021-released album ‘=,’ the tune – which previously peaked at #4 – logged its 52nd week on the hit list last week, marking the fifth time Ed’s seen one of his hits do the same or better.
Listed on the count of the longest-running Hot 100 hits of all time, the 31-year-old is named more than any other artist thanks to ‘Shape of You’ (59 weeks), ‘Thinking Out Loud’ (58 weeks), ‘Perfect’ (57 weeks), ‘Bad Habits’ (56 weeks), and now ‘Shivers.’
Quite the impressive feat in an era full of microwaved/”here today, gone tomorrow” hits!
