Chris – who has more than 100 Airbnb rentals – says he was a millionaire by the age of 26, and is on track to be financially independent by the age of 30.
And he revealed his three top tips to budding entrepreneurs – and some may surprise you.
He began: “Rule number one: you have to live below your means.
“And stop buying dumb s***! If you’re not making over half a million dollars a year, you shouldn’t be driving a German car.
“You should be driving a Toyota or Hyundai.”
Chris also had strong words for people who splurge on brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Dior.
He explained: “Instead, you should be wearing H&M or Zara.”
Chris suggests finding a way to “make money in your sleep“, otherwise you have to work until you die.
But his best tip for creating streams of revenue is investing in real estate, as you don’t need much capital to begin your real estate journey.
Chris said: “You can start out by using a strategy called rental arbitrage.”
Rental arbitrage is a practice of renting a property, and then posting it for sublet or short term rental on sites like Airbnb.
His final piece of advice: “A personal who walks alone is usually the one who goes furthest in life.”
But not everyone was convinced by his brutal financial advice.
One user joked: “Sorry, but this doesn’t help – my car is Toyota and I wear H&M.”
Others said brands like Zara and H&M are far too expensive, and suggested alternatives like Primark and Walmart.
Another follower slammed his advice regarding Airbnb: “So essentially exploit others to become wealthy?
“Is there a non exploitive way to get financial freedom???”
Another self-made millionaire shared her tips for building wealth, but warned you can never “save your way” to being rich.
Tess B. Jelten, a 25-year-old from Arizona, has built her fortune through social media and building her own brand as Tiktok’s “rich big sister”.
She shared advice on her platforms and says often people believe that cutting back or budgeting will help them get rich.
Speaking on her TikTok channel @billiondollarbella, she said: “Unfortunately that couldn’t be further from the truth.
“Now those things are definitely important to do but it’s not gonna make you rich.
“The key to being truly wealthy is having active income in excess to fill up your savings and then to turn that active income into passive income streams.”
