Barely a week before Christina Aguilera gears up to perform and be honored at the 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards (as we reported here), her recent Latin efforts received special recognition from another institution: the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Taking to press September 20, the RIAA announced two Aguilera singles – the Ozuna-assisted ‘Santo’ as well as the Becky G, Nicky Nicole, and Nathy Peluso-enlisted ‘Pa Mis Muchachas’ – had crossed its threshold for Latin Platinum certification status, meaning they’ve sold 60,000 units each in the United States.
Both found aboard Christina’s 2021-released EP ‘La Fuerza’ (which serve as part of a larger album titled ‘Aguilera’), the tunes were top 40 hits for the songstress on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart – peaking at #24 an #37 respectively.
What’s more, the tracks helped Xtina score 7 nods at this year’s Latin GRAMMYs. One of the night’s most nominated acts, she’s listed in major categories like ‘Song of the Year,’ ‘Record of the Year,’ ‘Album of the Year,’ and more. Click here to read more.
