The airline system is melting down, so maybe we could at least get paid
Flying sucks. On the one hand, it still feels sort of miraculous to climb into a metal tube and be whisked across the country, flying hundreds of miles per hour through the clouds. But on the other hand, almost everything about that experience is bad and is getting worse over time.
The question of who should pay for airfare when things go awry has been lingering in the air for a while now. The obvious answer is the airlines, but the major carriers have been resistant, preferring instead to make passengers pay for all their own accommodations when flights get delayed or canceled. But that way of doing things may be coming to an end.
WoW: Dragonflight’s New “Simple” Upgrade System Is Resulting In Some Complex Cheat Sheets
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s Embers of Neltharion update introduced a new, more universal gear upgrade system that Blizzard hoped would make gearing in the MMORPG simpler. And while the new system certainly has its share of benefits over the old system, it has also left some players scratching their heads and consulting some complicated-looking charts in order to grasp it.
The new system makes it so PvE gear earned from raids, the open world, and Mythic+ dungeons can be upgraded using currencies called Flightstones and Shadowflame Crests, replacing one-off systems like the old Valor system that was used exclusively to upgrade Mythic+ gear. It sounds good on paper, and it is definitely a great way for those who are more focused on open world content or raiding to continue progressing their characters by doing a wider variety of content. Blizzard said in a FAQ the goal of the system was to keep the “base player experience simple.”
Simple, however, seems up for debate. While Flightstones are earned from just about any endgame activity and are fairly straightforward, the real confusion surrounding the new system stems from the multiple different types of crests, crest fragments, and sub-divisions of gear that dictate how powerful a particular piece of gear can become. Depending on the difficulty of the content the gear was acquired from, it requires different types of crests to be upgraded. That has led to confused players attempting to help their fellow gamers make sense of it all in the form of various different flow charts and “cheat sheets,” like the one below from Reddit user ernest314. Another chart from user ChiefSach breaks it down in a different way.
How Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow’s Tactical Soul System Inspired A New Generation Of Metroidvanias
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is celebrating its 20-year anniversary today, May 6, 2023. Below, we look back at how the successor to Symphony of the Night is still influencing the genre.
From the Souls-ian hack-and-slash of Blasphemous to the pastel beauty of the Ori series, the sheer volume of metroidvanias in today’s gaming market can overwhelm even the most die-hard enthusiast. But while most fans will always correctly consider Castlevania: Symphony of the Night as the most influential entry in Konami’s lauded series, there were other games that had a big effect on today’s metroidvanias–and I would argue 2003’s Aria of Sorrow is the best of them.
Aria of Sorrow is the third Castlevania game for Game Boy Advance, though it’s much more memorable than its two predecessors. It’s the fourth “Igavania”-style entry in the series, meaning that it has the same exploration and RPG mechanics first inaugurated by Symphony of the Night and designer Koji Igarashi. Its grand new innovation, the Tactical Soul system, would be the next step forward for the franchise, and it’s a mechanic that’s inspired many of the metroidvanias that have emerged over the years.

Redfall: PC performance, system requirements and best settings guide
You’ve probably head by now that Redfall is a few virgins short of a vampy picnic, mainly by un-virtue of its undercooked co-operative cryptid blasting. But there are plenty of PC performance problems to contend with as well, despite it getting a helping hand from DLSS and FSR 2.1.

Genshin Impact’s pity system can make 4-stars rarer than 5-stars
The Genshin Impact four-star pity system makes sure that players obtain a four-star character or item after every 10 pulls, but fans have pointed out that even banner four-stars are never fully guaranteed. While this isn’t always an issue, it’s true that you could pull on a banner 90 times – enough to secure one five-star character – and still never get the four-star that you were hoping to add to your party.
