AN urgent warning has been issued over a viral cooking trend that’s promoting a dangerous way to fry steak.
Fire authorities are urging TikTok viewers not to try the new hack which is being watched by millions of people.
The trick sees people using a toaster to cook steak by inserting the slab of meat where the bread normally would go.
In one example, TikTok user Juliette is seen using the toaster’s grill plates to cook the beef before pulling it out with tongs.
Using the “#chef” hashtag, the American woman – known only as Juliette – captioned the video: “Cooking steak for my boyfriend.”
But the idea is being slammed by the London Fire Brigade who are urging anyone who sees the trending video not to try it at home as it could lead to a blaze breaking out.
