Clearly a staunch supporter of R&B, Quees has made headlines for covering some of the format’s most beloved classics over the years including Brandy‘s ‘I Wanna Be Down,’ Donnell Jones‘ ‘Where I Wanna Be,’ SWV’s ‘You’re the One,’ Soul For Real‘s ‘Candy Rain,’ and many more.
Inciting a polarizing response in the process, at one time over 50,000 people signed a petition for the now 28-year-old to stop covering and remixing other artists’ songs.
Undeterred by the detractors, he never stopped rendering his mixed-reviewed renditions as evidenced by how he took to Instagram over the weekend to deliver a stirring snippet of Deborah Cox‘s 1998 award-winning signature song ‘Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here.’
