John Legend is getting candid.
For, the singer is talking all things, including his relationship with Kanye West and so much more in a new interview.
Speaking to Billboard, Legend touched on the complicated relationship that he has with West and reveals where they stand now, saying:
“He was upset with me that I didn’t support his presidential candidacy. I don’t really know a way around that. I’m not going to take back the fact that I didn’t support his presidency.”
“I’m not going to apologize for that because I believe that was the right thing for me to do. If that means he doesn’t want to be friends with me anymore, so be it.”
However, he would go on to praise West and his contribution to his career, saying:
“We have great music that we made together. He helped make me who I am as an artist and I’ll never forget that. We just not seeing eye to eye right now and that’s life.”
Over the years, the pair has worked on several songs together, West producing for Legend as well as them both doing fully featured collaborations. Such works include ‘Number One’ and ‘It’s Over.’
