Kanye West has sparked fresh controversy and once again it centers on racial discourse.
Fresh from offending many with comments deemed anti-Semitic, the rapper shared a shocking take on one of the cases at the heart of the contemporary Black Lives Matter movement: the murder of George Floyd.
As of writing, former Police officer Derek Chauvin is sitting in prison convicted of killing the unarmed Black man – whose neck he knelt on for over 9 minutes.
For Kanye, though, that wasn’t the reason for Floyd’s death.

During his hotly anticipated third appearance on Drink Champs with Noreaga, Ye blamed drugs on Floyd’s death. He said:
“I watched the George Floyd documentary that Candace Owens put out. One of the things that his two roommates said was they want a tall guy like me, and the day that he died, he said a prayer for eight minutes. They hit him with the fentanyl. If you look, the guy’s knee wasn’t even on his neck like that.”
