Mariah Carey may have lost out on the opportunity to trademark the ‘Queen of Christmas’ titling officially, but all signs from her annual holiday season domination point to the diva being the season’s reigning monarch.
Having already made her perennial stamp on book shelves (‘The Christmas Princess‘) and music charts (‘All I Want For Christmas is You’) with her festive offerings, Carey set her sights on TV ratings with the December 20-aired CBS concert special ‘Merry Christmas To All.’
Refreshed ratings reports suggest the Queen not only came, but she also conquered in a BIG way.

Nearly 4 million viewers tuned in to CBS on Tuesday (December 20) to hear the Songbird Supreme sing her greatest hits (like ‘Hero,’ ‘We Belong Together,’ and more) alongside some of her holiday favorites.
The primetime special, originally filmed at Madison Square Garden in New York City, reigned as winner of the night’s TV ratings war – defeating the likes of all other broadcast and cable programming like NBC’s ‘The Wheel’ and ‘Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch,’ college football, and many other of the evening’s most highly anticipated small screen offerings. In fact, the closest competitor to Mariah’s ‘Merry’ – ABC’s ‘Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town’ – drew a over a million less eyes.
Fans of the diva, affectionately called #Lambs, who missed the action when it first aired on CBS will be able to stream it via Paramount+.
Carey’s latest yuletide win came just days after it was reported her song, ‘All I Want for Christmas is You,’ tied for the title of ‘highest-certified female song’ in American history. Click here to read more about that.
