A roundup of things revealed by the effects of climate change, beginning with a seven-thousand-year-old circle of dozens of megalithic stones in a dam whose waterline has receded in Spain. Officially known as the Dolmen of Guadalperal but dubbed the Spanish Stonehenge, it’s only been fully visible four times in 60 years. Next we have Part Of A Foot, in a Shoe, Spotted in Yellowstone Hot Spring. This adds to the long running saga of human feet in sneakers found washed up on shore. And closer to our concerns, Climate Change May Finally Reveal Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot and Other Cryptids. Paul Seaburn mentions a Scottish environmental group who warned that “climate change may be warming and evaporating Loch Ness at a rate that could drive Nessie up from its cold depths…” Likewise an analysis of Bigfoot sighting data by biologist Jeff Lozier of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign forecast “to no one’s surprise that an increase in temperatures there would push Sasquatch to move north and uphill.” Seaburn also mentions Andrew Paul who wonders if one cryptid in particular might actually benefit from climate change—the Chupacabra.
