A bunch of Destiny 2 exotic weapons are getting anti-champion buffs
Everyone’s still eagerly anticipating the Destiny 2 showcase slated for August 23, and Bungie has said that in the meantime, we won’t be getting much in the way of big news from the weekly update posts. Still, the latest This Week At Bungie outlines some impactful changes – several Destiny 2 exotic weapons are getting buffed with new intrinsic qualities that make them effective against the MMO game’s champion enemies.

Game-breaking Destiny 2 bug makes Bungie disable text chat
Nefarious players are employing a game-breaking Destiny 2 bug that allows them to crash another player’s game by sending them a malicious message in the FPS game’s text chat. Bungie has now disabled the game’s text chat functionality temporarily across all platforms while they investigate the issue and prepare a fix.
The text chat bug was initially reported on both the Destiny 2 forums and the game’s subreddit. Players noted that a particular text string being posted into the chat window would cause anyone who saw it to face an instant game crash, booting them out and returning the Weasel error message.
In particular, this began to affect the game’s PvP – rather than posting the message to a wide chat, some dastardly Destiny deviants decided to whisper the text string to their opponents, causing the other players’ games to crash and securing themselves an easy victory. Some players reported that even disabling your chat doesn’t resolve the issue, as the messages are still sent to your character, just not displayed to you.

Witcher 3 devs’ new game sounds like Destiny 2 with ninjas
Ex-CD Projekt developers who worked on The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 have formed a new studio and are working on an online game with Unreal Engine 5 – and it sounds like a lot like Destiny 2 or Warframe as a ninja game in feudal Japan.
The new studio, Dark Passenger, was co-founded by Jakub Ben and Marcin Michalski – who previously worked on The Witcher 3 and its expansions on the game’s art team, lending assistance on the cinematic side of Cyberpunk 2077. Their new indie studio is made up of “game dev veterans and fresh blood specialists” and is currently in production on a new online game set in Japan.
Dark Passenger describes the game as a first-person stealth-focused online multiplayer game with co-op, PvP, and PvE elements – a lot like Destiny 2 – built in Unreal Engine 5. “Our goal,” the developer states, “is to create highly exciting online experiences that are focused both on cooperation and rivalry.” Players take control of a ninja assassin and join up with other players to take on other clans and search for mysterious objects of “extraordinary power.”
