Bungie Outlines Upcoming Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner Changes
The latest Bungie developer blog outlines events coming to Destiny 2, including Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner. Trials of Osiris returns from hiatus on Friday and resets on Tuesday, March 21. Next week features Iron Banner mode, Control, followed by Eruption in Week 6 and Fortress in Week 9. Here’s the brief rundown of what the new events introduce to the game.
Trials no longer has a Freelance node, so it’s only 3v3 Fireteam Matchmaking. New Trials of Osiris rewards include:
- The Immortal, a brand new 750 RPM Strand Legendary Submachine Gun that utilizes perks like Rangefinder and Killing Wind.
- Astral Horizon, a Kinetic Aggressive Frame Shotgun. This weapon returns with the Slideshot, Surplus, and Opening Shot perks. Bungie hints that Shot Swap or Elemental Capacitor will also be available as new perks.
Starting this season, Trials of Osiris engrams stay with Saint-14 until you decode them. You can’t decode Trials engrams from past season with Saint-14, though. You need to go to Master Rahool for that.

Take an exclusive look at Iron Treads EX, a new card in the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet TCG expansion
The endless march of the Pokemon Trading Card game continues on – and we’ve got an exclusive look at one of the newest additions to the trading acrd game, coming as part of the new Pokemon TCG: Scarlet & Violet expansion.
Themed off the most recent generational shift in the series, the big news here is an update to the Pokemon EX mechanic that was introduced in the card game several years ago. It used to be that only ‘basic’ Pokemon – that is, the first form in an evolutionary line – could be EX cards – but in the Scarlet & Violet expansion, that’s expanded to Basic, Stage 1, or Stage 2 Pokemon.
Despite that being the headline, the card we’re revealing here today is a new basic EX card, Iron Treads EX – which of course is based on the new Paradox Pokemon introduced in Scarlet & Violet on Switch. Take a look:
Destiny 2 Is Evolving Once More With Lightfall | Iron Banter
Just about every week brings something new to Destiny 2, whether it’s story beats, new activities, or interesting new combinations of elements that let players devastate each other in the Crucible. Iron Banter is our weekly look at what’s going on in the world of Destiny and a rundown of what’s drawing our attention across the solar system.
Usually, the limbo between Destiny 2 seasons eases a bit as we learn more about the next expansion, and this week, Lightfall details are coming en masse thanks to a brand-new vidoc from Bungie and an earlier preview event GameSpot was invited to. While watching the vidoc at the preview event and a live gameplay demo of the first mission, one thought kept running through my head: We’re seeing the game evolve before our eyes once again.
It’s not drastic on all fronts: Neomuna, the new location in Lightfall, is still what Bungie refers to as a “three-bubble zone,” which puts its size on par with Europa or the Throne World. So it’s not particularly large from what I gathered, and we will likely have seen most of the location by the time Season of the Defiance is over. However, one thing I’ve grown to appreciate about Destiny 2’s more recent locations is just how deep these labyrinthine worlds go.
