A software company whose code is used in thousands of widely downloaded American apps has been pretending to be based in the U.S. when, in reality, it operates out of Russia, new reporting from Reuters shows. The company, Pushwoosh, used fake street addresses and even fake employee profiles on LinkedIn to create the…
Putin’s troops SURRENDER key city of Kherson in ‘dark page of Russian history’ after brutal Ukraine onslaught
VLADIMIR Putin’s troops have withdrawn from a key Ukrainian city in a move dubbed a “black page for Russia” by pro-Kremlin sources.
Russian forces have reportedly been forced out of the southern city of Kherson, gateway to Crimea and the largest city of one of the four Ukrainian territories annexed in September.

It is a humiliating blow for Putin’s forces[/caption]
Putin‘s Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu on Wednesday ordered his troops out of the city and across the Dnipro River to take up defensive lines.
Russian top brass were filmed on state TV discussing the withdrawal.
In a meeting of senior military officials, General Sergei Surovikin, Russia’s commander in Ukraine, said it was no longer possible to continue supplying the city.
He said: “In these circumstances, the most sensible option is to organise the defence along a barrier line along the river Dnipro.”

Vladimir Putin was not at the event. Instead, he was filmed by state TV speaking to a health chief.
The news follows weeks of Ukrainian advances towards the city, seen as the gateway to Crimea, and a race by Russia to “relocate” tens of thousands of its residents.
Surovikin, who earned the nickname “General Armageddon” due to his brutality in Syria, said that more than 115,000 people have crossed the Dnipro River in recent weeks.
Kherson was the only regional capital conquered by the Russians since the start of the war more than eight months ago.

Ilia Ponomarenko, a defence reporter at the Kyiv Post, said earlier on Wednesday that the retreating Russian army were “blowing up all bridges in Kherson Oblast” and removing their flags from the city.
It marks one of Russia’s most significant retreats since the start of the war and a potential turning point in the conflict that has raged since late February.
Kherson was one of four Ukrainian territories, along with Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia, which were annexed by Russia following sham referendums in September.
At the time, Russia claimed that the new territories would remain Russian “forever”.
This is a black page in the history of the Russian army
Pro-Kremlin blogger
A pro-Kremlin blogger wrote on the messaging app Telegram: “Apparently we will leave the city, no matter how painful it is to write about it now.
“In simple terms, Kherson can’t be held with bare hands.
“Yes, this is a black page in the history of the Russian army. Of the Russian state. A tragic page.”
It comes after the Putin-installed puppet leader in Kherson was killed hours, following his warning to Russians to leave the city.
Former YouTuber Kirill Stremousov – reviled for a sick stunt swinging a baby round his head – had urged civilians to flee their homes while pumping out twisted pro-regime propaganda.
He was reportedly killed in a car crash according to Vladimir Saldo, Kherson’s Russia-appointed governor.
Stremousov, 45, was appointed just two months after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
He was wanted for treason by the Ukrainian police.
In recent hours, the Kremlin appears to have opened the door for negotiations with Ukraine in the face of the withdrawal from Kherson.
“The Russian Federation is ready to negotiate with Ukraine, taking into account the realities that are developing at the moment,” Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
However, some insiders have urged caution, with adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky Mykhailo Podlyak warning that the Russian withdrawal from Kherson wasn’t complete.

“Actions speak louder than words,” he said.
“We see no signs that Russia is leaving Kherson without a fight… [Ukraine] is liberating territories based on intelligence data, not staged TV statements.”

Mind-blowing video game-style footage shows Ukrainian drone drop a bomb on a Russian tank triggering enormous fireball
DRAMATIC footage captures the moment a Ukrainian drone drops a bomb on a Russian tank, sparking a huge fireball.
The video, reportedly filmed in the Mykolaiv region of southern Ukraine, shows in crystal-clear quality the improvised explosive land a direct hit on a Russian T-72 tank.

In the brief clip, which was shared on Twitter, the drone’s camera pans over a wooded area to where the Russian tank has been hidden by the tree cover.
The drone gets directly over the tank while the operator checks the angles, before unleashing an improvised munition containing a 1.5kg explosive payload.
It lands right on the tank’s engine area, triggering an enormous explosion and taking the tank out of action.
The drone camera then zooms in to examine the damage to the T-72, each one costs around $1 million (£890k) when new.

It isn’t known if there were any Russian soldiers inside the tank at the time.
The video comes as fighting continues across southern and eastern Ukraine, with President Zelensky’s forces battling to retake more of the territory claimed by Russia.
Vlad‘s troops have been forced to beat a hasty retreat from parts of Kherson Oblast, which only last month was welcomed into Russia along with three other Ukrainian territories following sham referendums carried out by Putin’s thugs.

Meanwhile, more Russian missiles were filed on Zaporizhzhia in southern Ukraine, sparking further fears of damage to Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.
President Zelensky accused Russian forces this week of planting mines at a major hydroelectric dam in Kherson, seeking to destroy it and trigger a “catastrophe on a grand scale”.
He also said the attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure including power plants is aimed at creating a new wave of refugees to further destabilise Europe.
Russia claims to have conscripted at least 260,000 people so far, 40,000 short of the target set by the Russian parliament, the Duma.
However, the mobilisation has sparked fury among many in Russia, leading to claims it has been halted early in parts of the country.
Reports say Putin’s army is enlisting the names of the dead, disabled, and children in a bid to artificially inflate its conscription numbers.

Putin’s secret enlistment police threatened to smash down the dead man’s door in a bid to round up conscripts, his family told news site Mediazona.
His niece said: “They promised to destroy the door, so we opened up.”
While Oleg Vasiliev, who suffers from spinal muscular atrophy and is unable to walk, was stunned when he was ordered to go to his nearest enlistment office.
Others called up include a foreign woman who was handed Russian citizenship just two years ago, a 63-year-old pensioner and a 16-year-old transplant patient.
It comes as Putin made a rare appearance in public this week, firing a sniper rifle at a training camp for mobilised Russians.
The Russian President, who recently turned 70, wore protective eye goggles as he tested the rifle at a training ground in the Ryazan region, roughly 100 miles southeast of the capital Moscow.
He lay under a net while firing several shots at a target some 300 metres away.

No footage was released showing whether or not the short-sighted tyrant hit any of the targets, nor was there any explanation for the visit.
And a chilling nuclear war simulator has revealed how a Russian nuclear strike could trigger a global conflict, killing 35 million people in just a matter of hours.
