Jason Colavito has Things To Say about Graham Hancock’s response to traditional archaeological criticism of his highly successful Netflix series and his revisionist views. Jason allows some truth to Russell Brand’s point about archaeological (and indeed, other elite groups’) control over their respective “narratives,” and does include the Brand/Hancock interview to check his own comments. In Graham Hancock Issues Response to Archaeology Association’s Open Letter Jason attempts, after a fashion, to criticize both sides in this major kerfuffle. Again, it’s sensible to read the Society of American Archaeologists’ “open letter” to Netflix complaining about their Ancient Apocalypse series and Hancock’s response. Jason links to the SAA missive at SAA — Society for American Archaeology, November 30, 2022 and Hancock’s Response by Graham Hancock (GH) to the Open Letter to Netflix Dated 30th November 2022 from the Society for American Archaeology (SAA) Concerning the Eight-part Docuseries Ancient Apocalypse Presented by Graham Hancock.
