In a most positive development for studying UFO history, David Marler has announced the formation of the National UFO Historical Records Center. More than just an archive, Marler and key associates plan this to be an active resource for centralizing, studying, and disseminating UFO information. Micah Hanks details the rationale for this non-profit organization, some of its already-vast holdings, and scanning efforts to digitize its material. The recent annual International UFO Congress conferred its Lifetime Achievement Award upon Marler, whose book Triangular UFOs: An Estimate of the Situation is the sine qua non for that fascinating area of ufology. At National UFO Historical Records Center Announcement the Congress offers a video of Marler detailing some of the historical records available, then-plans that have now materialized, and James Fox relating how literally the first hour of his highly-regarded 2020 documentary The Phenomenon benefited crucially from Marler’s work. The impressive National UFO Historical Records Center website has more on the key advisory/contributory team behind NUFOHRC and ways to support the effort financially and, if interested, in dedicating materials to this effort.
